- Yampa Project consists of two, 428 MW units located near Craig in northwestern Colorado and associated transmission lines. The plant is jointly owned by Platte River, Tri-State Generation and Transmission, Inc., Xcel Energy, the Salt River Project operating agent. The plant is adjacent to the Trapper Mine which is the primary coal supplier for the plant and is jointly-owned by the participants. Platte River owns 18 percent of Craig Units 1 and 2.
