"No matter if the science is all phony, there are collateral environmental benefits...climate change provides the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world" Christine Stewart, former Canadian Environment Minister.

Extract from: The global warming scam By Derek Kelly, PhD

"The major "sin" for the global warmists is CO2. The Kyoto treaty is meant to reduce the amount of this gas so as, they say, to reduce the degree of warming and eventually return us to some stable climate system. If we look at the historical situation, however, this is cause for alarm. For one thing, there has never been a stable climate system. For another, the level of CO2 in our atmosphere is near its historic low. In the long run, the greatest danger is too little rather than too much CO2. There has been a long-term reduction of CO2 throughout the 4.5-billion-year history of the Earth. If this tendency continues, eventually our planet may become as lifeless as Mars.

Glaciation has prevailed for 90% of the last several million years. Extreme cold. Biting cold. Cold too intense for bikinis and swimming trunks. No matter what scary scenarios global-warming enthusiasts dream up, they pale in comparison with the conditions another ice age would deliver. Look to our past climate. Fifteen thousand years ago, an ice sheet a kilometer and a half thick covered all of North America north of a line stretching from somewhere around Seattle to Cleveland and New York City.

Instead of reducing CO2, we should, perhaps, be increasing it. We should pay the smokestack industries hard dollars for every kilogram of soot they pump into the atmosphere. Instead of urging Chinese to stop using coal and turn instead to nuclear-generated electricity, we should beg them to continue using coal. Rather than bringing us to the edge of global-warming catastrophe, anthropogenic climate change may have spared us descent into what would be the most serious and far-reaching challenge facing humankind in the 21st century - dealing with a rapidly deteriorating climate that wants to plunge us into an ice age. Let's hope Antarctica and Greenland melt. Let's hope the sea levels rise. All life glorifies warmth. Only death prefers the icy fingers of endless winter. "

The Great Green, Global Warming, Con-Trick

The current panic over Global Warming, dismissed as dishonest and ‘junk science’ by many of the world’s top scientists, is being fuelled by outright lies and blatant scaremongering. Even our love of animals is being used against us, in order to persuade us to accept their theories as facts. ‘Tigers, Polar Bears, and umpteen other animals, could be extinct within thirty-years.’ So runs an advertisement currently appearing on television; and that is the first clue, that the argument is as full as holes as a pair of fishnet stockings. After all, anything could happen, including – nothing at all.

Now, advertising on television is expensive, very expensive indeed, and one of the reasons for using this media is because of its cinematic effect. Your audience can see the animals, and listen to the informed and compassionate narrative – and they’re hooked, despite the fact that the narrator is probably a professional actor, and most of the animals shown are threatened more by losing their natural habitat to man, and not through global warming. However, the main reason people advertise on television is in order to sell us something. In this particular case we are being sold a concept, the idea that global warming is all man’s fault, but we can, by doing as we’re told, and in conjunction with accepting a huge increase in taxation, turn things around – before it’s too late.

That of course is complete and absolute poppycock, but these are the same lunatics that have made it a disciplinary offence for a teacher to tell a child its being naughty, misbehaving, or acting like a spoilt child. In days gone by they could well have fallen off the edge of the world, and we'd be rid of them.

Earthy global warming hg wht.gif

The media’s constant misuse of climate change to promote the hype that we are experiencing a sudden massive increase in global warming, was well illustrated by an article that appeared in The Daily Mail, on Friday June 15th 2007.

Columnist, Baz Bamigboye’s ‘Chilling Tale of Global Warming, an article on polar bears, quotes: ‘According to statistics, the worldwide polar bear population is around 20,000 and declining at the rate of 22 per cent a year.

Chilling stuff indeed – if it were true.

However, according to the World Wildlife Fund, about 20 distinct polar bear populations currently exist, accounting for approximately 22,000 polar bears worldwide. Of those distinct populations only two, representing about 16.4 percent of the total population, are decreasing. At the same time, 10 populations representing approximately 45.4 percent of the total population are stable, and 2 populations representing about 13.6 percent of the total number of polar bears are increasing. The status of the remaining populations is unknown. But then facts do not make for such dramatic bylines, do they?

Such is the religous fervour of the green fanatics, that it has been agreed that poor countries, such as Africa will not be allowed to develop. Power stations that provide electricity will be denied to them. Better they starve to death or die of lack of thirst, than produce the dreaded CO2. Such is the fanatacism of the Greens, that they are prepared to walk over the corpses of millions in order to enforce their misguided beliefs.

And the chief architect of Global Warming, Al Gore? A man too dim to defeat a simpleton like, George.W.Bush? Well his film, An Inconvenient Truth, won an Oscar, even though there was very little truth but loads of science fiction contained in it. His company expects to make billions by selling 'Carbon Offsets', the benefits of which are a newer version of 'The King's New Clothes.' Non-existent, indeed Gore seems to be so fond of fairy tales that he scripted one of his own.

Whenever politicians need to raise money, or to distract us from their glittering dishonesty and incompetence, they try to frighten us by scaremongering.

Gordon Brown will raise billions of pounds in new taxes using global warming as his excuse, but to demonstrate just how concerned he, or New Labour, are about climate change, consider this: According to government figures, there were 2,718,080 household pensioners claiming pension credit in Nov 2006,and each and every one of those pensioners will soon be made to travel, every week, by car or bus to collect their pensions. That’s a staggering one-hundred-and fifty-million-plus unnecessary road journeys a year, courtesy of Gordon Brown’s determination to eliminate the Post Office.

But that is as nothing compared to the millions more now forced to travel to work in out of town factories, shops, stores, supermarkets and warehouses. Every time a housing estate is built on green land so the need for transport has to increase. Yet only this week it was announced that New Labour was removing its restrictions of out of town developments.

The workplaces used to be located close to peoples homes, and there was no need to drive, but the governments insisted that unsightly factories and things should be built out of sight and out of town. Having now succeeded in moving almost all the workplaces onto industrial estates, it is now trying to blame those now forced to drive to work, because of government policy, of creating unnecessary pollution.

Welcome to the ‘Great Green Con-Trick’.

P.S.

Piers Corbyn, Director of Weather Action long-range forecasters said in a report to a Daily Newspaper 8th December 2006, "The December storms are being caused by unusual activity on the Sun," which, he said, influences the Earth’s weather patterns. He explained, “We are seeing extra magnetic activity from the Sun and extra particles in the solar wind.

“The strength of the Earth’s magnetic connection with the Sun determines our weather patterns to a large extent, so we will see solar storms mirrored here on Earth.”

The strength of the Earth’s magnetic connection with the Sun determines our weather patterns to a large extent, so we will see solar storms mirrored here on Earth.”

But what about Methane?

Cows release more Methane than all the cars in the world, (Report in Monday 11th December's Daily Papers.)

No doubt DEFRA will by now have delighted the Treasury with plans to fine farmers whose cows persistently fart. Quote: "The problem of cows and their Methane emissions is one that must be pursued in future farm planning..."

So the rhetoric of those either making money, or obtaining more power by being 'green', rolls on as remorselessly as remakes of The Living Dead, and about as original.

"And here in Britain all the political parties are scrambling aboard the climate change gravy train. Yes, 'Global Warming/Climate Change has initially fired up the environmental zealots, offered unlimited power to governments and billions of dollars to the banks. But, when global temperatures continue to fall, as they have for the past eight years, and the media begin to reveal the millions of people from the poorest nations on earth who have died, as a direct result of fake 'climate controls', where will these opportunists find to hide?"

Tony Butler

Foot Note

July 2009 the British Met Office, following some of the heaviest rainfalls for years, reversed its April forecast of two to three month of blistering hot weather.

"The science is not yet available to accurately forecast the weather two or three months in advance,” said a spokesman.

Would someone care to inform the UN, Al Gore and all the other shysters claiming to be able to predict the weather in fifty-years-time, to pull the other one. They should be arrested for criminal fraud.

Global Warming Makes the Case Against Global Government

The utterly baseless case for “global warming” is melting a lot faster than the glaciers in India’s Himalayas which, by the way, are not melting.

It is time for the Nobel Committee to rescind the Peace Prize given to Al Gore and the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

It is time for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences committee to take back Al Gore’s Oscar for “An Inconvenient Truth”, an alleged documentary that became mandatory viewing for students in the U.S. and around the world. Purporting to “prove” that the Earth was rapidly warming due to the rise in “greenhouse gases”, it is a fraud.

In the event the news hasn’t reached you, in mid-August 2009, after repeated requests for the Climate Research Unit’s raw data from which it calculated global temperatures, the CRU at the University of East Anglia (UK), a key element of the UN’s IPCC, announced that it had discarded the data, thereby making it impossible to determine if their assertions of rising global temperatures were accurate and true. Or not.

Where will you find the next hint of your carbon footprint? – Airline food?

Well, yes, pretty soon, especially if you travel by Thai Airways International.

Even as dubious research “threatens” mainstream research on global warming, people across the world appear all set to move past tea parties, and look at how they can educate their customers, train them and help them with information that helps them be more energy efficient, and possibly pay to offset their footprint.

Thai Airways International’s baby steps are of course the first anyone has taken in this regard. From the little that I learned by reading the article, it appears that the following two dishes have the honor of being the first to tell their partakers of the footprint involved in ingestion, digestion and the general hedonistics involved in eating them:

One- Chicken Mussaman Curry with steamed Thai Hom Mali Rice (13.6 kg CO2 e per 250g serving),and,

Two- Green Curry Kiew-Wan with steamed Thai Hom Mali Rice (13.9 kg CO2 e per 250g serving)

Don’t be surprised by the large quantity of the carbon dioxide, since it does take a lot to bring food on flight and serve it to you.

Anyway, time for you to decide if you want to take the flight or be stuck running backward in a tea party…

[edit] Top 10 Things You Can Do to Reduce Global Warming

Burning fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and carbon dioxide is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and global warming.

You can help to reduce the demand for fossil fuels, which in turn reduces global warming, by using energy more wisely. Here are 10 simple actions you can take to help reduce global warming.

One- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle:

Do your part to reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. Buying products with minimal packaging (including the economy size when that makes sense for you) will help to reduce waste. And whenever you can, recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum cans. If there isn't a recycling program at your workplace, school, or in your community, ask about starting one. By recycling half of your household waste, you can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.

Two- Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning:

Adding insulation to your walls and attic, and installing weather stripping or caulking around doors and windows can lower your heating costs more than 25 percent, by reducing the amount of energy you need to heat and cool your home.

Turn down the heat while you're sleeping at night or away during the day, and keep temperatures moderate at all times. Setting your thermostat just 2 degrees lower in winter and higher in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.

Three- Change a Light Bulb:

Wherever practical, replace regular light bulbs with compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. Replacing just one 60-watt incandescent light bulb with a CFL will save you $30 over the life of the bulb. CFLs also last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs, use two-thirds less energy, and give off 70 percent less heat.

If every U.S. family replaced one regular light bulb with a CFL, it would eliminate 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gases, the same as taking 7.5 million cars off the road.

Four- Drive Less and Drive Smart:

Less driving means fewer emissions. Besides saving gasoline, walking and biking are great forms of exercise. Explore your community mass transit system, and check out options for carpooling to work or school.

When you do drive, make sure your car is running efficiently. For example, keeping your tires properly inflated can improve your gas mileage by more than 3 percent. Every gallon of gas you save not only helps your budget, it also keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

Five- Buy Energy-Efficient Products:

When it's time to buy a new car, choose one that offers good gas mileage. Home appliances now come in a range of energy-efficient models, and compact florescent bulbs are designed to provide more natural-looking light while using far less energy than standard light bulbs.

Avoid products that come with excess packaging, especially molded plastic and other packaging that can't be recycled. If you reduce your household garbage by 10 percent, you can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.

Six- Use Less Hot Water:

Set your water heater at 120 degrees to save energy, and wrap it in an insulating blanket if it is more than 5 years old. Buy low-flow showerheads to save hot water and about 350 pounds of carbon dioxide yearly. Wash your clothes in warm or cold water to reduce your use of hot water and the energy required to produce it. That change alone can save at least 500 pounds of carbon dioxide annually in most households. Use the energy-saving settings on your dishwasher and let the dishes air-dry.

Seven- Use the "Off" Switch:

Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need. And remember to turn off your television, video player, stereo and computer when you're not using them.

It's also a good idea to turn off the water when you're not using it. While brushing your teeth, shampooing the dog or washing your car, turn off the water until you actually need it for rinsing. You'll reduce your water bill and help to conserve a vital resource.

Eight- Plant a Tree:

If you have the means to plant a tree, start digging. During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. They are an integral part of the natural atmospheric exchange cycle here on Earth, but there are too few of them to fully counter the increases in carbon dioxide caused by automobile traffic, manufacturing and other human activities. A single tree will absorb approximately one ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime.

Nine- Get a Report Card from Your Utility Company:

Many utility companies provide free home energy audits to help consumers identify areas in their homes that may not be energy efficient. In addition, many utility companies offer rebate programs to help pay for the cost of energy-efficient upgrades.

Ten- Encourage Others to Conserve:

Share information about recycling and energy conservation with your friends, neighbors and co-workers, and take opportunities to encourage public officials to establish programs and policies that are good for the environment.

These 10 steps will take you a long way toward reducing your energy use and your monthly budget. And less energy use means less dependence on the fossil fuels that create greenhouse gases and contribute to global warming.

[edit] Advantages and Disadvantages of Global Warming

In February 2007, the United Nations released a scientific report that concludes that global warming is happening and will continue to happen for centuries. The report also stated with 90% certainty that the activity of humans has been the primary cause of increasing temperatures over the past few decades.

With those conclusions and the conclusions of innumerable other scientists that global warming is here and will continue into the foreseeable future, I wanted to summarize the likely effects of global warming, into the advantages and disadvantages of global warming. First, we will look at the many disadvantages of global warming and then follow with the very small number of advantages of global warming.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Global Warming

Disadvantages of Global Warming

**- Ocean circulation disrupted, disrupting and having unknown effects on world climate.

**- Higher sea level leading to flooding of low-lying lands and deaths and disease from flood and evacuation.

**- Deserts get drier leaving to increased desertification.

**- Changes to agricultural production that can lead to food shortages.

**- Water shortages in already water-scarce areas.

**- Starvation, malnutrition, and increased deaths due to food and crop shortages.

**- More extreme weather and an increased frequency of severe and catastrophic storms.

**- Increased disease in humans and animals.

**- Increased deaths from heat waves.

**- Extinction of additional species of animals and plants.

**- Loss of animal and plant habitats.

**- Increased emigration of those from poorer or low-lying countries to wealthier or higher countries seeking better (or non-deadly) conditions.

**- Additional use of energy resources for cooling needs.

**- Increased air pollution.

**- Increased allergy and asthma rates due to earlier blooming of plants.

**- Melt of permafrost leads to destruction of structures, landslides, and avalanches.

**- Permanent loss of glaciers and ice sheets.

**- Cultural or heritage sites destroyed faster due to increased extremes.

**- Increased acidity of rainfall.

**- Earlier drying of forests leading to increased forest fires in size and intensity.

**- Increased cost of insurance as insurers pay out more claims resulting from increasingly large disasters.

Advantages of Global Warming

Advantages of Global Warming

**- Arctic, Antarctic, Siberia, and other frozen regions of earth may experience more plant growth and milder climates.

**- The next ice age may be prevented from occurring.

**- Northwest Passage through Canada's formerly-icy north opens up to sea transportation.

**- Less need for energy consumption to warm cold places.

**- Fewer deaths or injuries due to cold weather.

**- Longer growing seasons could mean increased agricultural production in some local areas.

**- Mountains increase in height due to melting glaciers, becoming higher as they rebound against the missing weight of the ice.

[edit] Top 5 greenest cities in the world

Greenest cities

Over the last few months, we’ve seen serious discussions taking place globally as countries and cities pledge to go green.

Some cities have made greener strides than others, which puts them at the top of the list for sustainability goals.

The five greenest cities in the world aren’t necessarily those that are nothing but green space, but they’re on the right track to improving their footprints.

Five- Vancouver, Canada[[4]]

Vancouver has been recognized for trying to make the Winter Olympic games sustainable, but it’s their day-to-day focus that really allows this Canadian city to earn its ranking. Ninety percent of Vancouver is powered by hydroelectricity.

Wind, solar, wave and tidal energy all help ensure that this city remains green. Plus, they’ve got even greater goals for the future.

Four- Malmo, Sweden[[5]]

This is one international city that is focused on green space. They are well-known for their parks, but also upon sustainable urban develop. It’s one of the largest cities in Sweden and it’s truly urban. They’ve been transforming neighborhoods to make them environmentally friendly.

Three- Curitiba, Brazil[[6]]

This Brazilian city focuses upon maintenance using green methods, for example, parks that are trimmed by sheep. They are also known for one of the best transit systems, so commuters are encouraged to leave their cars at home.

Two- Portland, Oregon, United States[[7]]

Although many U.S. cities are now jumping on board, this was the first to focus upon alternative transit with light-rail and extensive bike path networks to encourage people to leave their cars in the driveway! It was also one of the first to pledge to reduce emissions and start transitioning buildings to use sustainable materials.

One- Reykjavik, Iceland[[8]]

This city is run entirely on green power, including geothermal and hydroelectricity. Their transit system also uses hydrogen buses and it’s motivated to become Europe’s cleanest city.
