Toilet cleaning

- A couple of denture-cleaning tablets dropped into the toilet and left overnight will help keep the bowl clean.
Most traditional toilet cleaners are alkali in nature (for instance, bleach), but this won't help in hardwater areas; hence, it is necessary to use an acid toilet cleaner instead.
- Some people swear by cola or other fizzy drinks for an extra sparkle (these are weakly acidic due to the dissolved carbon dioxide) - pour a can or more into the bowl, leave overnight, scrub, then flush.
