Wendell Berry	American	Farmer, Philosopher	He was a farmer, poet, novelist, essayist, and a teacher. His appreciation and love for the land is expressed in both his life and works.
Lester Brown	American	Activist	He has been described by the Washington Post as "one of the world's most influential thinkers." The founder of 'Earth Policy Institute', his vision is to create an environmentally sustainable economy, a roadmap of how to get from here to there — as well as an ongoing assessment of progress.
